Join us as an Editorial Board Member

The International Journal of Public Health Science (IJPHS), p-ISSN 2252-8806 and e-ISSN 2620-4126, seeks Editorial Board Members (EDMs) with expertise in all areas of our scope. To increase our engagement with global public health communities, we run the journal using a collaborative editorial model in which EDMs assess manuscripts in their areas of expertise alongside the in-house Editorial Team. These EDMs will collaborate closely with our in-house editors to select significant advances that will be of broad interest to all professional communities involved in global and public health research, policymaking, implementation, and delivery around the world. EDMs will provide in-depth expertise in their respective fields of research, allowing us to cover the journal's scope and interact with their peers.

An IJPHS EDM should be prepared to handle at least 2-3 manuscripts per month.

Who are we looking for?
We are looking for experts who are passionate about open access, data sharing, scientific publishing innovation, and advocacy. We are looking for individuals with broad and diverse expertise in any area of our scope, including disease epidemiology, population health, health equity, environmental and occupational health, health policy, reproductive, maternal, and child health, and social determinants of health. We are particularly interested in early-career researchers who have made significant contributions to their field and can assist us in giving a voice to the communities we hope to serve.

What are your responsibilities and benefits?
You will work with our in-house, professional editors to evaluate and select manuscripts, manage the peer review process, and create papers for publication in the journal. You will serve as an advocate for the research community and your field by managing papers efficiently, robustly, and constructively, as well as promoting progressive publishing ideas. As a member of the Editorial Board, you will be held accountable for the scientific integrity of the manuscripts under consideration. You will follow the journal's ethos, editorial standards, policies, and scope, ensuring that manuscripts are handled efficiently and appropriately. Additional advantages for Editorial Board members include:

  • Increase your field knowledge by reading research and learning from your peers.
  • Active participation in your field, such as journal work, interactions with authors, reviewers, and fellow Editorial Board members, can help you raise your profile and advance your career.
  • Gain insight into the editorial decision-making process and the peer review procedures at IJPHS.
  • When you publish with IJPHS, you will receive a 25% reduction in the article publication charge.

To apply, please send a CV and a brief cover letter to ijphs@iaescore.com by September 15, 2026, describing your interest in serving as the journal's EDM, as well as your curriculum vitae and prior editorial experience.
