Study descriptive of health seeking behavior in Bulak Banteng Surabaya

Abstract


Infant and under-five mortality rate in the world is still a major health problem that must be resolved immediately. The result of SUPAS in Indonesia shows the decrease Infant and under-five mortality rate but still relatively high. Mother’s health seeking behavior very important to manage the health of his children. So the Purpose of this study is to find out the description of the community in the working area of Bulak Banteng Public Health Center in conducting a health seeking behavior when the child was sick. This study used descriptive observasional with research design cross sectional and 50 samples that has given data showed by frequency’s table and diagram. The result show majority mothers choose to take action when their children are sick with most choosing to take them to health care facilities and do their own treatment. To improve health care efforts, mothers are expected to always care for their children well and not too late for giving treatment when their children are sick.
